Junction Improvement Projects Completed at Five Locations in Karwan
Hyderabad: Traffic management in Karwan Assembly Constituency has received a significant boost with the completion of junction improvement works at five major locations.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), in coordination with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), sanctioned ₹1.5 crore for the project following representations made by the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM).
Key Junctions Developed in Karwan Constituency
The project covered five important traffic junctions in the constituency. These include the 7 Tombs T-Junction, Hakeempet Salar Bridge, Tolichowki Crossroad near Bakewell, Pillar No. 102 near Mughal Ka Nala, and Tipu Bridge at Langar Houz. All of these locations are known for heavy traffic flow and frequent congestion during peak hours.
The development works consisted of constructing central islands and median strips to streamline traffic movement, along with the installation of decorative streetlight lamps to improve visibility at night. In addition, greenery has been developed at the sites to enhance the overall look of the junctions while contributing to environmental improvement.
Focus on Traffic Flow and Road Safety
Officials stated that these measures are designed to ease congestion at key choke points in Karwan and to ensure safer movement for commuters. With the new roundabouts and structured medians, vehicular flow is expected to become smoother and more organized. The improved lighting and landscaped green patches are also aimed at providing a safer and more pleasant commuting experience for residents.
The completion of these works marks a step towards better urban planning and traffic regulation in the constituency, addressing one of the most pressing civic issues for daily commuters in the western parts of Hyderabad.
