Hyderabad Metro Stops Passenger Carrying Rs. 3.5 Lakh Cash

Hyderabad, Oct. 1: A passenger at Jubilee Hills Checkpost Metro Station faced an unexpected hurdle on Wednesday when he was stopped for carrying large amounts of cash. Security checks revealed that the commuter was in possession of Rs. 3.5 lakh, exceeding the permissible limit allowed inside the metro.

Metro security officials stated that the individual was informed about the restriction and was not permitted to travel. According to officials, passengers are allowed to carry cash up to Rs. 2 lakh in compliance with Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulations. Carrying an amount above this limit inside metro stations is not permitted.

Hyderabad Metro authorities have reiterated that security personnel are mandated to strictly follow RBI guidelines.
