Delhi/Hyderabad, Oct 6 (Maxim News): Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said that a door-to-door survey has been conducted across the state as per the promise made by the Telangana government to implement 42 percent reservation.
Speaking to the media on Monday, the minister said that the law was reviewed by a sub-committee, got the approval of the cabinet, placed in the assembly and sent to the Governor with the unanimous decision of all political parties. He said that the Governor has sent it to the President. However, he was angry that some people are going to court over this.
The minister revealed that arguments were held in the state High Court and that they were told that they could go for the election notification. The High Court was scheduled to hear the case on the 8th, but they had already reached the Supreme Court. They made it clear that they would present their arguments in the Supreme Court in a fair manner. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar stated that they had come to Delhi on the orders of CM Revanth Reddy.
Meanwhile.. The Supreme Court will hear the 42 percent reservation today. The Telangana government is ready for arguments in the Supreme Court. Singhvi and Dave will present arguments on behalf of Telangana.
In this context, Telangana ministers Batti Vikramarka, Ponnam Prabhakar and Vakati Srihari reached Delhi last night. A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court on the 42 percent BC reservation. The petition has been filed that more than 50 percent reservations are going to be implemented in the local body elections in Telangana.
Vanga Gopal Reddy has filed a petition in the Supreme Court that more than 50 percent reservations are being implemented. The petition has been filed against the previous Supreme Court verdict that the 50 percent reservation should not be exceeded. The case will be heard before the bench of Justice Vikram Nath.
