Moscow/Internet/Hyderabad, Oct 16 (Maxim News) Russia has responded to US President Donald Trump’s recent comments that India will not import oil from Russia for a long time and that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured him in this regard.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has commented that Russian oil is very important for the Indian economy. It said that Russia is exporting oil to India at a discount, which is of great economic benefit to that country. Meanwhile, Trump has imposed heavy tariffs on India because Russia imports oil.
The US has been warning India to stop buying Russian oil, saying that buying oil from Russia would be tantamount to Russia helping the war in Ukraine.

However, India ignored the US warnings and imposed additional tariffs. Recently, Trump’s statement that Modi had promised to stop buying oil from Russia has become a topic of discussion. (Maxim News)
