Vigilance Awareness Week Observed At MANUU

Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Hyderabad, observed Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 by organizing a special program on the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.” The university community, including faculty members, non-teaching staff, students, officers, and research scholars, participated in the program aimed at reinforcing the values of integrity and transparency.

The event began with the administration of the Integrity Pledge by Vice Chancellor Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan. Addressing the gathering, Prof. Hasan underlined the importance of shared responsibility in promoting ethical practices in both professional and personal life. He stated that vigilance and integrity must become integral aspects of one’s character and that such habits help create a culture of honesty and accountability.

Prof. Vanaja M, Chief Vigilance Officer, delivered a thought-provoking address focused on the significance of vigilance in everyday living. She explained that developing self-awareness and ethical decision-making not only prevents corruption but also builds trust within institutions and society at large. Her speech emphasized that vigilance is not limited to official duties but is a continuous responsibility guiding human behavior.

At the start of the program, a one-minute silence was observed in memory of the wife of MANUU’s Second Vice Chancellor, Prof. A. M. Pathan, who passed away on October 23. The Vice Chancellor and all attendees offered heartfelt tributes to honor her memory. The solemn moment set a reflective tone before the event’s proceedings resumed.

The program also featured brief remarks by Mr. C. Mutyala Rao, who delivered the welcome address, acknowledging the active participation of the university community. Dr. Afroz Zaheer conducted the proceedings, ensuring smooth coordination throughout the session, while Mr. Habib Ahmad expressed gratitude in the vote of thanks. The event concluded with a collective commitment to uphold vigilance, transparency, and ethical responsibility — principles that strengthen the foundation of public institutions.
