Chaderghat DCP Firing Incident: AIMIM Demands Probe

Chaderghat DCP Firing | Hyderabad, Oct 26: AIMIM has demanded an independent and fair inquiry into the police firing incident involving a rowdy-sheeter at Chaderghat in Hyderabad.

The incident occurred near Victory Playground, where a known offender from Kalapather, Mohd Omar Ansari, was injured after being shot by the DCP of the South East Zone during an alleged phone-snatching attempt.

Bahadurpura MLA Mohammed Mubeen visited the injured individual at Care Hospital on the instructions of AIMIM Supremo and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi.

Mubeen, accompanied by Ramnasthpura Corporator Mohammed Khader, met the victim to assess his medical condition and ensure he was receiving adequate treatment.

Speaking to reporters, AIMIM Bahadurpura MLA Mohd Mubeen said, “We demand a fair and independent investigation into the matter.”

According to initial reports, the incident took place when police personnel confronted Umar Ansari for allegedly attempting to snatch a mobile phone near Victory Playground.

During the scuffle, the situation escalated, resulting in the DCP firing a shot that injured Ansari. He was subsequently shifted to Care Hospital for emergency treatment.

The AIMIM leadership has stressed the need for transparency and accountability in the investigation process, calling on law enforcement authorities to follow due legal procedures.

The party urged the government to conduct an impartial inquiry to ascertain the circumstances that led to the firing.

Local officials also reiterated the party’s stand that every accused person, regardless of their criminal background, must be treated under the purview of law and not subjected to excessive force.

The demand for an independent probe has drawn public attention, as the incident has reignited debates on police action and law enforcement accountability in Hyderabad.
