Hyderabad, August 12 (Maxim News): Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will unveil the statues of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule in Hyderabad on August 14. The Phule statues inauguration will highlight the social reformers’ contribution to education and the uplift of weaker sections.
The programme will take place at 4 pm after the Cabinet meeting. Organisers will then hold a public meeting at the HMDA Grounds. The event will bring together representatives of backward class communities, students, educators and civil society groups.
Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar reviewed the arrangements at Damodara Sanjeevaiah Welfare Bhavan in Masab Tank. Senior officials attended the review meeting at the S.R. Shankaran Conference Hall.
The minister said the government wants to honour the aspirations of backward class communities. He also said the statues would occupy a prominent location in the heart of Hyderabad.
Phule statues inauguration to showcase social reform legacy
The Phule statues inauguration will recall the work of Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule. Their work focused on education, social equality and the empowerment of disadvantaged communities.
Meanwhile, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar directed officials to complete arrangements without causing inconvenience to visitors. He asked departments to coordinate closely on transport, security, sanitation and other civic facilities.
Officials will also prepare detailed route maps for the event. They will make arrangements according to protocol for the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, ministers and elected representatives.
The minister also directed officials to plan the stage according to protocol rules. Separate arrangements will be made where required for representatives of government bodies and corporations.
BC Welfare Government Advisor Hanumantha Rao welcomed the initiative. He thanked the Chief Minister and the BC Welfare Minister for promoting the ideals of Jyotirao Phule.
He recalled Phule’s emphasis on education and Savitribai Phule’s pioneering work for women’s education. He urged people to carry their reformist ideals into present day society.
Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender also reviewed arrangements at the venue. He called for coordination among government departments, elected representatives and community organisations.
Jubilee Hills MLA Naveen Yadav urged BC organisations to support the programme. He said large participation would require advance planning and effective coordination.
The organisers expect representatives from various BC associations to attend in large numbers. Therefore, officials will focus on crowd management, transport and security arrangements.
The government has also encouraged BC leaders and community organisations to mobilise participants. The organisers want the Phule statues inauguration to reflect collective participation and unity among BC communities. (Maxim News)
