November Sentiment Clouds Jubilee Hills Bypoll for BRS, BJP

Hyderabad, Nov. 6 (Maxim News) : The upcoming Jubilee Hills bypoll has stirred debate over whether the “November sentiment” will again work against the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

With only four days left for campaigning, both parties are intensifying efforts to win over voters, while the Congress aims to consolidate its position as the ruling party in Telangana.

November Sentiment Haunts BRS and BJP

Political observers note that BRS, which lost two bypolls held in November during its previous term, faces mounting pressure.

In 2020, the BRS was defeated in the Dubbak bypoll by the BJP. The following year, the Huzurabad bypoll also resulted in a BJP victory after Etela Rajender, who resigned from BRS, contested and won as a BJP candidate.

These consecutive losses in November have created an internal belief within BRS ranks that the month brings electoral setbacks.

Party insiders admit that the leadership is trying to dispel this notion and boost morale among cadres, reminding them that the Congress, not the BJP, is now their primary rival.

Meanwhile, BJP leaders acknowledge that urban contests like Jubilee Hills differ from rural bypolls.

Some within the party argue that the “November sentiment” may not work this time, as the Congress government has changed the state’s political dynamics.

As the campaign nears its end, all major parties are deploying top leaders to attract voters.

The outcome of the Jubilee Hills bypoll will test whether historical patterns hold or a new political chapter begins in Telangana’s urban politics. (Maxim News)
