- Union Minister’s comments on Revanth Reddy ignite by-election debate
- Jubilee Hills campaign speech goes viral on social media
Union Minister and Karimnagar BJP MP Bandi Sanjay’s latest remarks during a campaign rally in Jubilee Hills have created a major political uproar. Speaking at a public meeting in Borabanda division on Thursday evening, he made strong statements targeting Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over his act of wearing a Muslim cap during the election campaign. The video of his comments has since gone viral on social media, triggering heated discussions across political circles.
Bandi Sanjay criticized both Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Congress candidate Naveen Yadav for wearing Muslim caps while campaigning, claiming it was done to attract votes. He compared their actions to those of former cricketer and Congress leader Azharuddin, pointing out that neither Azharuddin nor MIM leaders wore such caps during their appearances. Declaring that he stands as a protector of Hinduism, he said, “I will shave my head, but will not wear that Muslim cap.”
He added that if the day ever came when he felt compelled to wear the cap, he would rather chop off his head. Sanjay went on to question the Congress party’s alliance with the AIMIM, asking whether the party had the courage to recite the Ganesh mantra or visit the Bhagyalakshmi temple with Owaisi’s brothers. He said, “Do you dare to take Owaisi’s brothers to the Bhagyalakshmi temple, make them dot the water and sing the song of the goddess?” His statements drew loud reactions from the crowd gathered at the rally.
Appealing to voters, the BJP leader urged Hindus in the Jubilee Hills constituency to unite under one banner and ensure the BJP candidate’s victory with a large majority. He accused the Congress and AIMIM of attempting to turn Telangana into an Islamic state and called upon voters to resist such efforts by consolidating Hindu votes. His remarks come amid the intense campaign battle for the Jubilee Hills by-election, scheduled to take place soon.
