According to Hyderabad City Police, the multi-layered plan includes enhanced local deployment, special patrols, and strict vehicle checks at key points. The arrangement also involves eight companies of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), eight striking force teams, and Quick Response Teams (QRTs). These units will be positioned at polling stations, sensitive zones, counting centres, and other crucial areas to help state police manage any emergencies.

West Zone DCP Ch Srinivas confirmed that 65 polling points have been categorised as critical or sensitive. He said, “There are route mobiles also in place, headed by senior police officers. A three-tier security system is being followed. CCTV surveillance and close monitoring of strong rooms and EVM storage have been given top priority.” The DCP also revealed that unaccounted cash worth Rs 3.4 crore has been seized so far as part of election enforcement drives.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar has issued precautionary orders under the Arms Act, directing all licensed firearm holders in the Jubilee Hills limits to deposit their weapons or produce them for verification. This move aims to curb potential misuse of arms during the poll period. Election Commission flying squads, supported by central police personnel, are conducting field inspections and monitoring campaign-related cash flow. Authorities have already taken preventive steps by binding over 240 known troublemakers and registering multiple FIRs for Model Code of Conduct violations and other offences.
