Authorities later clarified that the loud sound was caused by a bus tire bursting. However, the confirmation came only after multiple teams inspected the area. Officials said the exact cause of the explosion-like noise is still under investigation. The incident caused temporary alarm among residents and passersby, who feared another attack following recent blasts in the city.

Delhiites have been on edge after the deadly explosion near the Red Fort two days ago, which killed 12 people and left more than 20 injured. The city has since witnessed heightened security and public alertness. Residents have become quick to report any suspicious sounds or movements to the police. In this atmosphere of tension, even the sound of a tire burst led to widespread fear and swift police action.

The South West DCP confirmed that no suspicious activity or object was found during the initial investigation. “The police are trying to find out where the noise came from,” said the officer. Teams from local police stations and fire services worked together to rule out any explosive or chemical cause. Meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is continuing its probe into the conspiracy behind the sequence of blasts that have shaken Delhi over the past few days.

Authorities urged the public to remain calm but vigilant, assuring that all necessary precautions were being taken to ensure safety across sensitive areas. The series of incidents has also led to increased surveillance in public zones, including hotels, metro stations, and markets, as investigations continue.
