Jammu Kashmir Weather Forecast Till March 19

Sonam Lotus, head of the Meteorological Centre in Ladakh, said snowfall was reported in the Zojila Drass and Panikhar Zanskar regions. He said cloudy conditions prevailed across most parts of Ladakh. Scattered rainfall was also reported in parts of Kashmir, while the Jammu region remained mostly cloudy.

The recent rainfall and snowfall ended a prolonged dry spell in the region. Officials said the winter season saw a precipitation deficit of more than 54 percent. The fresh weather activity also led to a drop in temperatures across the Kashmir Valley.

The department forecast light to moderate rain and snowfall at scattered places on Thursday. Dry weather is expected on March 13 and March 14. Farmers have been advised to resume agricultural activities during this period.

The forecast indicates generally cloudy conditions from March 15 night to March 16 morning. Light rain and snowfall are expected in higher reaches during this period. Similar weather activity may continue at scattered places between March 17 and March 19.

The department said March 20 and March 21 are expected to remain mostly dry. However, light rain at isolated places cannot be ruled out.

Temperatures Decline

Temperatures have also declined during the recent weather activity. Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 12.5 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 10.5 degrees Celsius. Pahalgam recorded a maximum of 9 degrees Celsius, while Gulmarg recorded 5.4 degrees Celsius.

Meteorologists said the fluctuating Jammu Kashmir weather pattern reflects changing seasonal conditions. They said weather variations may continue over the coming days.
