BJP Lost Jubilee Hills Elections Due to Late Candidate Announcement
- Etala Rajender Blames Delay for BJP’s Defeat in Jubilee Hills
- Congress and BRS Began Campaigning Early, Says Malkajgiri MP
Hyderabad: Malkajgiri MP Etala Rajender stated that the BJP lost the Jubilee Hills elections because the party announced its candidate late. According to him, the Congress and BRS parties had started their election preparations six months before polling. Meanwhile, BJP’s last-minute decision led to defeat.
He added, “It is not right to say that the BJP’s work is over just because it lost in Jubilee Hills.” Rajender cited past elections to bolster his argument. “Didn’t the Congress come to power after losing its deposit in the Huzurabad and Dubbaka by-elections? After the formation of Telangana state, nine by-elections were held, of which the ruling party won seven, BJP won two,” he said.

Rajender accused the ruling party of abusing power during the Jubilee Hills elections. He said, “In the Jubilee Hills elections, the ruling party abused its power by distributing money and sarees.” Raising civic concerns, he noted, “The governance system in Hyderabad has completely collapsed. Keeping in mind the city’s population, the drainage system, traffic control and sanitation management should be properly taken up.”
He informed that he will meet Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to discuss urgent city issues. “I will meet CM Revanth Reddy and listen to the problems. I request that the vacant two-bedroom houses be allotted immediately and that the houses of the poor should not be demolished by HYDRA,” said MP Etala Rajender.
