Former Maoist Leader Urge Cadres To Surrender After AP Encounters

Hyderabad, Nov. 19 (Maxim News): A sharp AP Maoist encounter appeal gained attention after two intense operations shook the agency belt in Andhra Pradesh. Six Maoists died in yesterday’s encounter near Maredumilli. Seven more died in a fresh exchange today.

Security forces said both operations came under ongoing anti insurgency drives.

AP Maoist encounter appeal calls for surrender and reintegration

Former senior Maoist leader Mallojula Venugopal released a video message. He said Operation Kagar put the group under severe strain. Gopal added that survival turned difficult for many cadres. He said several key leaders died in recent encounters.

Venugopal said the latest Hidma encounter showed the sharp shift on the ground. He urged Maoists to drop weapons. He asked them to join normal civic life.

Venugopal said the deaths caused deep pain. He added that the country changed fast. He said the movement could not survive under rising pressure. He urged cadres to step out of hiding. He asked them to meet their families and start fresh work.

Venugopal said the long conflict created loss on all sides. He asked them to end the cycle through surrender.

Venugopal advised all who want to quit to contact him directly. He shared his number for support. He said he will guide them through a safe exit. He noted that many youths joined due to fear and lack of options. He said they can rebuild life through state programs. He urged them to trust the new environment.

Security sources say the two day operation marked one of the largest in recent months. They say the pressure on Maoist units grew across the region. They add that most groups now move in small teams. They also say poor supplies weaken their hold.

State officials expect more surrenders in the next phase. The AP Maoist encounter appeal may push that trend forward. (Maxim News)
