CV Anand Warns That Ibomma Piracy Arrest Will Not Stop Cyber Crime
Hyderabad, Nov. 19 (Maxim News): Police arrested Ibomma operator Imma Ravi for running a major piracy network. Officials said he sold data worth fifty lakh rupees on the dark web.
Many users who visited the site now fear for their safety. Moreover, the arrest raised new questions. People want to know if piracy will stop and if cyber crime will reduce.
CV Anand, Special CS of the Home Department, addressed these concerns on the X platform. He said hackers will continue to appear. He noted that one hacker may go, but another will come.
CV Anand added that the next person may use stronger technology. He made it clear that arrests alone cannot end piracy or cyber crime.
Anand said big gangs with strong technical skills faced arrests in many major theft cases. Yet thefts, robberies, attacks, and frauds still continued. He said such crimes will exist as long as humans exist.
Anand advised people to focus on prevention because it is the only tool in their hands.
CV Anand urged people to control the desire for quick money. He said that desire drives the growth of cyber crime. He advised users to protect their cyber space and secure their accounts.
Anand reminded everyone that nothing in life comes for free. He repeated a popular line from director Rajamouli and said it reflects a true fact. (Maxim News)
