- KTR urges students to oppose Congress government failures
- BRS leader seeks action on education issues and Gurukul concerns
Hyderabad: KTR protest call gained momentum as BRS Working President K T Rama Rao urged students to launch a movement against what he described as growing anarchy and failures of the Congress government in Telangana. He met leaders of the student wing at his residence and gave directions on future activities. He said the education sector weakened under the current government and therefore needed strong public response.
He reminded the student leaders that former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao created a golden age for education after the formation of Telangana. He said KCR provided quality education to many poor and middle class students through Gurukul educational institutions and residential colleges. However, he claimed the Congress government was now destroying the system built over a decade. “The Congress government has unleashed Goebbels’ propaganda that nothing has happened in the last ten years. It is the responsibility of the students to refute their lies everywhere,” he said.
KTR said student protests would intensify from next month for the release of fee reimbursement arrears. He asked the student wing to mobilize thousands and hold major protest events in all constituency centers. He also raised concerns about issues in Gurukuls. He said tragedies such as adulterated food and student suicides continued, and the earlier ‘Gurukul Path’ movement did not lead to real action by Congress leaders. Therefore, he said it was necessary to mobilize again against the conditions in Gurukuls.
He asked every student to stay active on social media and respond to political issues. He said the Congress government must be exposed on matters of education, jobs and employment. He asked the youth to highlight that the 42 percent BC reservation also expands opportunities in education and jobs. He said pressure must continue until the government fulfils the BC declaration.
KTR said Deeksha Diwas on November 29 held great importance in Telangana’s history. He said Telangana statehood was possible due to KCR’s initiation, which is marked on December 9. He added that students and student martyrs made great sacrifices during the movement. He urged that Deeksha Diwas be observed across all universities and colleges. He said the youth must understand the role played by KCR in the movement.
He concluded that the love for Telangana must be protected. He said movements produce real leaders. “Every student should fight against the anarchy of the Congress and grow into a warrior,” he said.
