According to the order, all government offices, departments, and workplaces located within the polling zones will remain closed on December 2. This leave will be treated as a paid holiday, enabling government employees and staff deployed for poll duties to cast their votes without inconvenience.

Officials said the move is expected to significantly boost voter turnout, while also helping the administration mobilize a large workforce required for election duties. With substantial manpower needed at polling stations, the holiday will allow smoother staff deployment and ensure operations remain uninterrupted.

The administration has urged all eligible voters to make full use of the opportunity and participate actively in the democratic process. Elections for local civic bodies are being conducted across multiple districts in Maharashtra, with authorities implementing strict measures to ensure peaceful, transparent, and efficient polling.
