Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted traditional Karimnagar artworks during the latest episode of his Mann Ki Baat programme. He said the silver craft pieces created in Karimnagar are recognised across the world. He added that he gifted these artworks to several Prime Ministers. Modi mentioned that he presented a traditional silver Buddha statue to the Prime Minister of Japan and a silver mirror with a floral design to the Prime Minister of Italy.
Modi’s comments came during the 128th episode of Mann Ki Baat. The programme began in 2014 and airs on the last Sunday of every month. It remains one of the most listened-to broadcast platforms in the country. The Prime Minister usually uses it to speak about national development, social values, and cultural stories. The Prime Minister further said that the growth of traditional art forms reflects India’s cultural diversity. He noted that such crafts show the skill and dedication of artisans who preserve old techniques. Also, his reference to Karimnagar artworks in an international context underlined their value.
