Shivakumar had dinner with more than 30 MLAs on Thursday night.  Some of them were ministers, and the meeting took place at Congress leader Praveen Doddananavar’s farmhouse. Sources said, expelled BJP MLAs ST Somasekhar and Shivaram Hebbar also attended the dinner.

It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, along with some ministers and several MLAs, had attended a similar dinner a day earlier.  They were hosted by belagavi North MLA Feroze.

Leaders say that these are all normal events.  “We attended a dinner at the MLA’s house.  There is nothing special about it.  It was a friendly meeting,” said Dk Shivakumar.  The view is that these shows of strength are taking place at a time when speculations have been going on for a few days about a change of Chief Minister in Karnataka.  (Maxim News)
