Panchayat Elections Second Phase Polling Ends, Counting To Begin Soon
Hyderabad, Dec 14 (Maxim News): The second phase of panchayat elections in Telangana ended at 1 pm. Minor clashes took place between leaders of different parties in some places. Those already in the queue at polling stations were given the opportunity to vote.
The counting of votes will begin at 2 pm and the results will be announced. After that, meetings will be held with ward members and by-elections will be held.
In the second phase, polling was held for 3,911 Gram Panchayat Sarpanch and 29,917 Ward Member posts in 193 mandals. 12,782 people are in the fray for Sarpanch posts and 71,071 for Ward member posts. (Maxim News)
