According to the provided information, India attacked Pakistan in May in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack. During this period, Pakistan carried out fierce attacks targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. However, after these developments, the Pakistan Army attempted to attack New Delhi. Indian forces, however, effectively repelled that attempt. Later, a series of attacks were carried out on Pakistani military bases under the name Operation Sindoor. Key bases of the Pakistan Army were destroyed in this operation.

Pakistan has now confirmed that Indian forces attacked its Nur Khan air base during these operations. The country stated that India launched more than 80 drones in just 36 hours. It also admitted that the Nur Khan base suffered damage in the attack. In addition, Pakistan acknowledged that personnel were injured during the strikes. This confirmation has drawn attention due to the strategic importance of the base.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar made the admission during a press conference held on December 27. Speaking about the drone attacks, he said, “At least 80 drones were launched in 36 hours. We were able to intercept 79 of them. Only one drone hit a military base. The personnel were also injured.” His statement marked the first official confirmation of damage to the Nur Khan base.

The Nur Khan air base, located in the Chaklala area of Rawalpindi, holds major strategic value. It lies very close to the country’s military headquarters and the capital. Therefore, the acknowledgment of damage to this base has significant implications. Pakistan also stated that the base was severely damaged in the Indian attack, further underlining the scale of the operation.

However, officials maintained that most of the drones were intercepted. Even so, the confirmation has triggered wider discussion about the impact of Operation Sindoor and the vulnerability of key military infrastructure. The admission has also brought renewed focus on the events of May and their continuing political and strategic consequences.
