IndiGo Flight Diverted To Rajahmundry Due To Bad Weather

Hyderabad, June 6: An IndiGo flight from Hyderabad to Jagdalpur was diverted and later returned safely to the city after being forced to land at Rajahmundry airport due to adverse weather conditions on Saturday morning.

The flight had taken off from Shamshabad (Hyderabad) airport as scheduled but was unable to land at its destination because of unfavourable weather conditions at Jagdalpur airport, officials said.

IndiGo Flight Diverted Mid-Journey

According to information, pilots decided to divert the aircraft as landing conditions at Jagdalpur deteriorated. The flight was subsequently directed to Rajahmundry airport, where it made a safe landing.

After a brief halt and reassessment of weather conditions, airline officials later operated the return journey, and the aircraft safely landed back in Hyderabad.

The flight was carrying 79 passengers, all of whom remained safe throughout the diversion and return journey.

Officials said IndiGo followed standard safety protocols and prioritised passenger safety during the entire operation.

While the diversion caused inconvenience to passengers, airline crew and operational staff handled the situation in accordance with aviation safety guidelines, ensuring no risk to passengers or aircraft.

Authorities reiterated that such diversions are routine in aviation when weather conditions at destination airports fall below safe landing limits.
