Hyderabad, July 21: The Crafts Council of Telangana (CCT) will organise Threads of Hope Bazaar, a special initiative to support artisans and craft enterprises affected by the devastating fire at Dastkar Nature Bazaar in New Delhi earlier this year.
The fire destroyed stalls, inventories, and years of work, leaving many artisans struggling to rebuild their livelihoods. Through this bazaar, CCT aims to reconnect artisans with customers, restore market access, and help them regain economic stability.
Threads of Hope Bazaar to Support Artisan Livelihoods
The two day bazaar will be held at CCT Spaces, MLA Colony, Off Road No. 12, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, on July 31 and August 1, 2026, from 10 am to 7 pm on both days.
The event will feature 26 artisan groups and creative enterprises directly affected by the fire. Visitors can explore handcrafted products, including silk carpets, rugs, cushion covers, Ajrakh and Bagru block prints, Banarasi handloom sarees, Chikankari garments, Pashmina shawls, bamboo and cane handicrafts, papier mâché creations, tribal jewellery, Kantha and Lambani embroidery, sustainable hemp clothing, home décor, upcycled bags, and other handmade products.
Participating artisans come from Kashmir, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Rajasthan, West Bengal, and several other states. The bazaar will also showcase sustainable collections, women led enterprises, and contemporary products rooted in traditional craftsmanship.
CCT said the initiative is more than a marketplace. It is designed to celebrate the resilience of India’s artisan communities while helping them recover from the losses caused by the fire.
Visitors will have the opportunity to interact directly with artisans, learn about their craft traditions, and support their rehabilitation through purchases. Every sale will contribute to rebuilding livelihoods and preserving India’s rich handmade heritage.
The Crafts Council of Telangana said the initiative seeks to bring together craft enthusiasts, designers, collectors, and conscious consumers to ensure that traditional skills and artisan livelihoods continue to flourish despite recent challenges.
