IT Wing formed in Civil Supplies Department
Hyderabad, Feb 3 (Maxim News): C. V. Anand, Commissioner of Civil Supplies has informed that steps are being taken to revamp Public Distributor System right from supply of essential commodities to their proper distribution and strengthen the existing system by utilizing latest technology. Technology is also being utilized to supervise all the administrative matters.
In this direction IT Wing is formed in Civil Supplies Department with experts in IT field to monitor and manage various IT Projects being implemented by Department on daily basis and to plan and Implement new IT Projects initiated by the Civil Supplies Department in line with Government of Telangana’s vision and Government of India’s guidelines and polices. IT Personnel were selected through CGG on outsource basis for a period of one year.
Commissioner convened a meeting with the officials of newly created IT Wing at Civil Supplies Bhavan on Friday. Speaking to them he informed that if technology is utilized successfully, it will create transparency in administration and pave the way for avoiding corruption. Implementation of technology fix up accountability at all levels and gives no scope for the offenders to escape and it leads to responsive administration.
All the transactions such as installation of CC Cameras at all MLS Points, providing GPS devices in all the transport vehicles, biometric systems at all F.P Shops, receiving complaints through social media, reaching of ration commodities to the consumers are being monitored through IT Technology. GPS devices were installed in 1150 Vehicles of the transport contractors to monitor transportation of food grains without diversions enroute. Command Control Center with video walls was also established in Head Quarters of Civil Supplies Department to monitor proper functioning of GPS, CCTVs, Social Media at a time. The same facility is also being extended to all the JCs shortly.
Steps are also being taken to improve the existing software of Online Paddy Procurement System for procurement of paddy and online payments to formers, Supply Chain Management and Finance Management System. E-Pos devices are installed at all the FP Shops throughout the state. With a view to implement cashless transactions at FP Shops due to shortage of currency notes and to provide Banking facilities and mini ATMs to all the rural masses, major changes are being made in the e-Pos devices to suit the present day requirement.
Commissioner of Civil Supplies informed that IT Wing is established to supervise all the above transactions with 1 IT – Head, 2 Project Managers and 2 Project Associates. Though many applications were received, the following experienced persons were appointed in IT Wing through CGG after doing lot of exercise in the last 2 months.
Balwada Malleswar Rao who worked in BDL and NIC and retired with 25 years of experience in IT field was selected as IT – Head. P. Sandeep and G. V. Raghunandan with 10 years experience were appointed as Project Managers and Sowgandh, P.Sandeep Kumar and G. Rajesh with 2 years experience were selected as System Support Associates. (Maxim News)
