Hyderabad, Feb.3 (Maxim News): An enquiry has been ordered into the alleged incident of manhandling of a member of the media by police in the process of arresting agitators at Gandhi Bhavan, this morning.
DCP Central Zone has been appointed as enquiry officer and he has been asked to conduct a detailed inquiry and submit report at the earliest.
Disciplinary action will be initiated against the erring police personnel based on the findings of the Inquiry report. Meanwhile, Task Force sub-inspector Thimmappa has been withdrawn from duties and has been asked to report in Head Office pending receipt of inquiry report.
It may be mentioned here that when a media person was allegedly manhandled by the police at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday morning while he was covering the procession of protesting contract lecturers, the journalists unions condemned the “atrocity” of the police and demanded that the State government initiate immediate disciplinary action against the erring cops.
