According to officials, the interruption is necessitated due to emergency repair works to fix leakages in the 1600 mm diameter Phase-III main pipeline between Pedapur and Singapur, which falls under the Singoor project. This pipeline is a major source of drinking water for Hyderabad.

In addition to the pipeline repairs, the Electricity Department will also be undertaking maintenance works at the Pedapur feeder near the 132 KV Kandi Substation, further impacting the water supply operations during the scheduled period.
