The Deputy Chief Minister explained that the government is addressing pending issues from previous administrations while taking the electricity department directly to the people. “From January 2022 to December 2025, all pending applications were reviewed and as many as 3,44,462 farmers were provided with new agricultural power connections,” he said. In line with connected load requirements, 75,686 new transformers were installed. Bhatti Vikramarka assured that power connections are given strictly based on seniority, without discrimination, and another 9,700 farmers will receive transformers once line works are completed.

He highlighted the government’s commitment by noting that nearly 2 lakh additional connections were granted during 2024 and 2025 alone. To reduce power interruption delays, “electricity ambulances” have been introduced, modeled on the 108 emergency services. “As soon as a complaint is registered by calling the 1912 toll-free number, a vehicle equipped with mobile transformers, thermal vision cameras, and safety gear boxes reaches the spot. Each vehicle carries one engineer and two staff members, who resolve the issue on a war footing,” he said.

Bhatti Vikramarka also stated that there is no shortage of electricity poles, transformers, or wires anywhere in the state. Under the “Praja Bata” programme, officials spend three days a week in the fields, rectifying bent poles and dangling wires. He assured the House that any issue submitted in writing will be resolved within 24 hours. These measures, he said, demonstrate the government’s commitment to modernizing the power sector and improving service delivery for farmers and citizens alike.
