Raid on Import-Export Firm in Kacheguda, 1,000 Litres of Animal Blood Seized
Hyderabad, Jan 8 (Maxim News) Central Drug Control officials have conducted a major raid on an import-export company in the Kacheguda area of Hyderabad, seizing nearly 1,000 litres of illegally stored animal blood, allegedly extracted from sheep and goats.
The joint operation was carried out by Central and State Drug Control authorities along with the Hyderabad Police, based on specific intelligence inputs. Officials inspected the premises of CNK Import Export Company in Kacheguda, where large quantities of sealed blood packets were found.
According to officials, the company failed to produce any valid documents regarding the source of the blood, its intended use, or official permissions. The volume seized indicates that the blood was collected and stored systematically over a long period.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the blood was being transported to Poly Medicure, raising serious concerns about its end use. Authorities are now verifying transport records and supply chains to check for violations of drug laws, biomedical regulations, and animal welfare norms.
Officials have expressed concern over the lack of clarity regarding the purpose of storing such a large quantity of animal blood. There is suspicion that it may have been meant for unauthorised medical or experimental use.
The owner of the company, identified as Nikesh, is reportedly absconding for the last two days. Police teams are searching for him, and officials say his questioning is crucial to the investigation.
The company premises have been sealed, blood samples have been sent for laboratory testing, and records related to transport and financial transactions are under scrutiny. Authorities have stated that the investigation is ongoing and strict legal action will follow if violations are confirmed. (Maxim News)
