The incidents reportedly occurred across Bhavanipet, Fareedpet, Wadi, Palvancha and Bandarameshwarpally villages, causing widespread concern among residents and animal welfare groups.

According to preliminary findings, local bodies cited a rise in stray dog numbers and public inconvenience.

However, instead of adopting scientific animal control methods, the accused allegedly decided on mass poisoning.

As a result, hundreds of dogs died over several days, prompting police intervention and veterinary examinations.
