Electric Buses For Women’s Group: Minister Ponnam

Hyderabad, Jan 22 (Maxim News): District in-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said that electric buses will be provided to women ‘s self-help groups in greater Hyderabad . They have tried to generate additional income through buses for groups in rural areas and have been successful, and in the first phase, buses will be provided to 40 to 50 groups in the city as well. With the term of the Metropolitan Governing Council ending in 19 days.

Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, on Wednesday, Deputy Mayor Meth Srilathareddy along with Zonal, Deputy Commissioners and senior officials held a review meeting at the GHMC headquarters. Along with H-City, SNDP, SRDP and other projects, officials of various departments explained the development works and other aspects going on in the city through a PowerPoint presentation. There are currently 72,942 self-help groups in the city, and their number is to be increased to one lakh.

He suggested that steps should be taken to ensure that every poor woman joins the association. Vijayalakshmi thanked the officers and people who have cooperated with the governing body for five years on this occasion. Commissioner Karnan said that the responsibility of sanitation supervision has been entrusted to engineers to keep Hyderabad at the top of the country in cleanliness. On this occasion, Karunya handed over appointment letters to 22 people. (Maxim News)
