India is acting as a messenger of peace at a time when many parts of the world face conflict, President Droupadi Murmu said in her Republic Day address. She made the remarks while addressing the nation on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day on Sunday. The President said the global situation remains tense in several regions. Therefore, she stressed that India continues to spread the message of peace in such circumstances.

President Murmu said there is an atmosphere of conflict in many parts of the world. However, she underlined that India’s role remains focused on peace. She linked this approach to the country’s broader outlook and responsibilities on the global stage. Meanwhile, she also spoke about security issues faced by the nation in recent times. She said that last year, terrorist camps were destroyed through “Operation Sindoor” and many terrorists were killed.

During the address, the President also focused on development and participation. She said the country cannot progress without the active role of women. Therefore, she stressed that women must be active and empowered participants in the nation’s growth. She praised the efforts of Nari Shakti and linked their role to India’s long term vision. She said these efforts are important to make India a developed country by 2047.

President Murmu further spoke about social and economic progress. She said millions of people who were mired in poverty for decades have now been brought above the poverty line. According to her, this change reflects sustained efforts toward inclusive growth. Meanwhile, she also referred to India’s economic journey. She said India is on its way to becoming the third largest economy in the world.

The President’s speech touched on peace, security, development, and empowerment. Therefore, her address presented a broad picture of India’s priorities at home and abroad.
