Hyderabad is set to host a major classical music event with Uttar Dakshin 15th Season, an annual concert series organised by Surmandal in association with Vivid Arts and Entertainment. The event will present a jugalbandi of Hindustani and Carnatic music, bringing together leading artistes from both traditions. The organisers announced that the concert will take place on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Ravindra Bharathi, Hyderabad, starting at 6.30 pm.
Uttar Dakshin 15th Season continues a long standing tradition of showcasing unity through classical music. Over the years, the series has built a strong identity by presenting collaborations between North Indian and South Indian maestros. Therefore, this edition aims to carry forward the same vision while offering a fresh musical dialogue. Music lovers in the city can expect an evening focused on melody, rhythm, and shared artistic expression.
The highlight of Uttar Dakshin 15th Season is a jugalbandi between two eminent classical musicians. Renowned Hindustani vocalist Pandit Jayateerth Mevundi Ji will represent the North Indian tradition. He is known for his powerful gayaki and his deep roots in the Jaipur Atrauli lineage. Sharing the stage with him will be Shri Shashank Subramanyam Ji, a globally acclaimed Carnatic flautist celebrated for his virtuosity and innovative approach to the bamboo flute. Together, they will explore the meeting point of two classical systems.
Meanwhile, the concert will also feature a distinguished percussion ensemble. Shri V. Narhari Ji will perform on the tabla, representing the Hindustani rhythmic tradition. At the same time, Shri Satish Patri Ji will play the mridangam, bringing the depth and precision of Carnatic laya. Their accompaniment will support the jugalbandi and add layers of rhythmic dialogue. Therefore, the evening promises spontaneous creativity shaped by experienced artistes.
Uttar Dakshin 15th Season is presented by State Bank of India with the support of cultural partners and patrons. The organisers stated that the series continues to promote India’s classical heritage while encouraging dialogue across traditions. Music lovers and rasikas are invited to attend this celebration where North meets South in a shared classical experience. Tickets for the concert are available on BookMyShow.
