Shiva Swami Condemns Chinna Jeeyar Remarks On Shankaracharya Peethas

Hyderabad, Feb. 9 (Maxim News): Shiva Peethadhipathi Shiva Swami on Monday strongly condemned the recent remarks made by Chinna Jeeyar Swami regarding the Chaturamnaya peethas, stating that the comments were baseless and controversial.

Reacting sharply, Shiva Swami said Chinna Jeeyar Swami claimed that Adi Shankaracharya did not establish the Chaturamnaya peethas. He said these statements were unacceptable and deserved complete rejection. He alleged that such remarks appeared to undermine the authority and sanctity of the peethadhipathis and their institutions.

Shiva Swami further said that the statements reflected an attempt to distort history. He cautioned that such interpretations could create unnecessary unrest. He urged that no situation should arise that misrepresents established historical understanding.

Shiva Swami demands apology from Chinna Jeeyar Swami

Continuing his remarks, Shiva Swami said Vaishnavas and Shaivites have long coexisted peacefully. He stated that both traditions continue to play their respective roles in society. However, he said the recent remarks by Chinna Jeeyar Swami were capable of creating confusion and disturbance.

He alleged that the comments had already caused concern among sections of society. Therefore, he warned against making such statements in public. He advised Chinna Jeeyar Swami to refrain from issuing remarks that could lead to controversy.

Shiva Swami demanded that Chinna Jeeyar Swami issue an apology to the Hindu community. He said the remarks had hurt sentiments and questioned established traditions. He made it clear that an apology was necessary to restore calm.

He further warned that if Chinna Jeeyar Swami failed to apologise, there would be strong resistance. He said they would not allow the situation to remain calm if the issue continued without correction.
