The action was taken after officials found that encroachers had illegally occupied Jangamonikunta tank land located on the route from the Serilingampally municipal office to Madinaguda. The tank spread across about four acres.

According to officials, the encroachers filled the tank with soil, levelled the land, and prepared it for conversion into residential plots. Arrangements were also made to sell the plots illegally.

Following several complaints from local residents, HYDRA officials conducted a field inspection. During the inquiry, they confirmed that the land belonged to the government and was classified as tank land.

Subsequently, HYDRA launched an operation to remove the encroachments. Officials cleared the area and erected fencing around the tank to prevent further illegal occupation.
