- Telangana CM invites Defence Minister to lay foundation stone of Gandhi Sarovar under Musi revitalization project
- Meeting held in Delhi; Gandhi Sarovar project to be launched at Isa-Musi confluence in February
Hyderabad: Telangana CM Revanth Reddy met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and invited him to lay the foundation stone of the Gandhi Sarovar project. The project is part of the ambitious Musi revitalization project undertaken by the Telangana government.
The meeting took place at the Minister’s residence in Delhi. Along with the Chief Minister, MPs Mallu Ravi, Gaddam Vamsi Krishna, Kadiyam Kavya and Anil Kumar Yadav also met the Union Minister.
During the meeting, CM Revanth Reddy told Rajnath Singh that the foundation stone of the Gandhi Sarovar project will be laid in the last week of February. He explained that the programme is being organized at the confluence of the Isa and Musi rivers. He said that this place has a special place in history. He further said that in 1948, the ashes of the Mahatma were immersed at the confluence of the Isa and Musi rivers.
The Chief Minister said that the Gandhi Sarovar project is being undertaken as part of the larger Musi revival project. He also informed the Defence Minister that Bapu Ghat will be developed into a world-class educational, cultural, spiritual and environmental symbol. The Telangana government has taken up the Musi revitalization project as an ambitious initiative, and the Gandhi Sarovar forms a key component of it.
Meanwhile, the invitation to Rajnath Singh highlights the significance the state government has attached to the project. The proposed foundation ceremony in the last week of February is expected to mark an important step in the Musi revival efforts. The meeting in Delhi reflects coordination between the Telangana government and the Union leadership regarding the project. (Maxim News)
