Telangana Municipal Election Counting Congress Opens Account
Hyderabad, Feb. 13: Telangana municipal election counting continued across the State as results were declared in several municipalities.
Meanwhile, the ruling Congress party opened its account with early victories in multiple wards.
In Sangareddy district, Congress candidate Sarita won Ward 15 in Indresham Municipality. Soon after, officials confirmed another win for the party in Mulugu Municipality.
In Ward 1 of Mulugu Municipality, Congress candidate Alothu Padma secured victory with a majority of 278 votes. Therefore, the party strengthened its early position in the ongoing municipal election counting.
Telangana Municipal Election Counting Sees Early Congress Wins
At the same time, results from Kollapur Municipality also favoured the Congress. In Ward 14, Congress candidate Narasimha Rao won with a majority of 150 votes. Thus, the party registered wins in different districts as counting progressed.
Meanwhile, officials continued counting under tight security arrangements. Police monitored counting centres to ensure smooth proceedings.
As a result, authorities reported no major disturbances during the early rounds.
The counting process will determine outcomes in 116 municipalities and seven corporations. Hence, political parties are closely tracking ward wise results across districts.
Authorities urged candidates and supporters to remain calm. They also appealed for cooperation so that municipal counting concludes peacefully across the State.
