Support KCR: KTR Urges Banjaras To Back Him
- KTR appeals to Banjaras, cites KCR’s tribal reservations
- KTR targets Congress, BJP over Singareni, Hung municipalities
Hyderabad: BRS Party Executive President KTR appealed to the Banjaras to support former Chief Minister KCR to become Chief Minister again. He said the credit for increasing reservations for tribals goes to KCR. He also recalled that Sevalal Banjara Bhavan was built in Banjara Hills during the KCR government.
KTR spoke at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday. He extended greetings to the Banjaras on the occasion of Sant Sevalal Maharaj Jayanti. Meanwhile, he highlighted several steps taken during KCR’s tenure. He said KCR provided land titles to tribals for four and a half lakh acres in a single day. Therefore, he credited KCR with strengthening tribal rights.
KTR said KCR made the Lambadas’ self respect of having their own kingdom in their Tanda a reality. He added that it was KCR who made the Tandas into village panchayats. Also, he said these measures reflected KCR’s commitment to tribal welfare. He urged the Banjaras to once again support KCR’s leadership.
KTR comments on Singareni and political alliances
On the same occasion, KTR extended greetings to the people of Telangana on Maha Shivaratri. However, he also addressed current political developments. He said the Congress and CPI parties are in an alliance and he will support the CPI to stop the looting in Singareni. At the same time, he criticized the Congress and BJP, saying they are working together in Singareni.
KTR said he does not know what pressures came on the CPI to agree to an alliance with the Congress in Kothagudem. Meanwhile, he said they will fight against corruption in Singareni regardless of who comes or not. He also alleged that the Congress party is creating anarchy in municipalities where Hung has come.
He expressed concern that their councilors are being threatened and even kidnapped in some places. Furthermore, he said BRS expects up to 10 Hung municipalities may come to the party. KTR reiterated that the party will continue to oppose corruption and political pressure.
