Hyderabad: A serious road accident took place in Banjara Hills on Monday. A home guard and a young woman died after a water tanker collided with a Rapido bike on Road No. 1. The incident has shocked local residents and raised concerns over road safety in the busy area.
Accident on Banjara Hills Road No. 1 Claims Two Lives
The accident occurred on February 23 at Banjara Hills Road No. 1. According to available details, a speeding water tanker hit the Rapido bike. The rider, Mohammed Hussain, was working as a home guard at Santoshnagar police station. He was 40 years old. Due to financial difficulties, he also worked part-time as a Rapido driver after completing his duty.
On Monday, a 20 year old woman identified as Akshita had booked the Rapido bike to travel towards Banjara Hills Road No. 1. However, during the ride, the tanker collided with the bike. As a result, both Hussain and Akshita suffered serious injuries.
Victims Declared Dead at NIMS Hospital
Immediately after the crash, bystanders rushed the injured to NIMS Hospital. However, doctors declared both of them dead on arrival. The sudden deaths have left their families in grief.
Meanwhile, the police registered a case and began an investigation. Officers are now examining whether the tanker driver’s negligence led to the accident. Further details are awaited as the probe continues.
