Hyderabad: Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan addressed the Annual Seminar on ‘MITRA’ at the College of Defence Management in Secunderabad on February 24, 2026. He said the Indian Armed Forces must shift from net centric operations to Intelligent Warfare. He also called for moving beyond Multi Domain Operations to All Realm All Domain Operations.
CDS calls for Intelligent Warfare and ARADO shift
“As warfare expands from the physical to the synthetic and cognitive realms, the Indian Armed Forces need to transition from net-centric operations toward Intelligent Warfare and move beyond Multi-Domain Operations MDO to All Realm All Domain Operations ARADO” the Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan emphasized in his address at the College of Defence Management Secunderabad on February 24, 2026.
He inaugurated the annual seminar themed Multi Domain Integrated Technologically Empowered Resilient Armed Forces MITRA. He highlighted the Third Revolution in Military Affairs. He described it as Convergence Warfare. According to him, it fuses contact and non contact, kinetic and non kinetic, and old and new domains across all levels of conflict. He also stressed the need to build non nuclear strategic deterrence. He said this would ensure the ability to win at every level of escalation.
CDM hosts MITRA seminar with ISB as knowledge partner
The College of Defence Management hosted the seminar on February 24 and 25, 2026. The Indian School of Business Hyderabad joined as Knowledge Partner. The theme MITRA reflects the changing role of military and war fighting strategies. It also responds to a complex geopolitical and technological landscape.
The seminar aligned lessons from current conflicts with India’s operational environment. It focused on self reliance and structural reform. It aimed to develop armed forces that are multi domain in vision, integrated in action, technology empowered in execution, and resilient in purpose. Senior defence officials, scholars, industry partners, and practitioners took part. The seminar encouraged strategic thinking and dialogue to build comprehensive national power under MITRA.
