Osmania University Hosts Session On Global Legal Opportunities

Hyderabad, Feb. 26 (Maxim News): The Faculty of Law at Osmania University organised a session on global opportunities in the legal sector on Thursday.

The programme focused on career prospects in the United States and immigration trends during the second term of Donald Trump. The event took place at the historic Tagore Auditorium on February 26, 2026.

Faculty members, students, alumni, and legal practitioners attended the session in large numbers.

The organisers aimed to provide clarity on international legal careers. Therefore, they invited an expert with hands-on experience in US legal practice.

The keynote speaker, Janetha Reddy Kancharla, an Attorney at Law in the United States, addressed the gathering. She explained how globalisation and cross border commerce have expanded legal opportunities.

She highlighted growth areas such as corporate law, intellectual property law, immigration law, technology law, and international arbitration. Moreover, she noted that legal professionals must adapt to changing global standards.

Kancharla outlined academic pathways for Indian law graduates who wish to practise in the United States. She detailed the importance of pursuing an LLM degree from an accredited US institution.

She also explained bar admission processes in states such as New York and California. In addition, she stressed the value of internships and professional networking.

In the second part of her address, she discussed immigration trends during President Trump’s second term.

She pointed to updated visa regulations and stricter scrutiny in processing. She also examined changes in employment based immigration and the H 1B visa programme.
