Sirens were also sounded in Jerusalem and people across the country received phone alerts about an “extremely serious” threat. The Israeli military said termed it a “proactive alert to prepare the public for the possibility of missiles being launched toward the state of Israel.”

The launch comes hours after US President Donald Trump said he was “not happy” with Iran talks and that a ‘big decision’ was to be made.

Oman’s foreign minister Badr Albusaidi, who is mediating the talks between Tehran and Washington, had said that a deal between the two sides is now within the reach.

No nuclear weapons. Not ever. Zero stockpiling. Comprehensive verification. Peacefully and permanently. Let’s support the negotiators in closing the deal,” he said on X as he shared a clip of his interview with CBS News.

US President Donald Trump on Friday said that the US has a ‘big decision to make’ after talks between Washington and Tehran ended on Thursday without a definite conclusion. Trump’s remark comes as the deadline for Iran to reach a deal with the US on its nuclear programme is nearing its end in a few days. Nonetheless, the stalemate continues despite the progress in talks in Geneva that were held on Thursday.

“We have a big decision to make. You know that. Not easy. We have a very big decision to make. We have a country that’s been for 47 years blowing people’s legs off, arms off, and the face. They’ve been knocking out ships, killing people. Not only Americans, but lots of people,” Trump said.
