TGNPDCL Records Highest-Ever Power Demand as Summer Begins

Hyderabad, Mar 1 (Maxim News): Power consumption in the state has reached new highs at the very start of summer. As temperatures continue to rise, electricity demand is increasing rapidly.

The Telangana Northern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGNPDCL) recorded an all-time high peak demand of 6,267 megawatts on Sunday. This broke Saturday’s record of 6,057 megawatts within just a few hours.

CMD Karnati Varun Reddy confirmed the development. He said this is the highest demand ever recorded in the company’s history. He described it as a major milestone for the power utility.

According to the CMD, electricity demand is rising sharply due to increasing heat. However, he assured that the company is fully prepared.

He said TGNPDCL has implemented strong planning measures in advance. Moreover, special focus has been placed on infrastructure development. As a result, uninterrupted power supply is being ensured across the region.

Even if demand increases further, supply will not be disrupted, he added. The company has made complete arrangements to handle higher loads.

Varun Reddy stated that the power department is working under the guidance of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. Senior officials are closely monitoring the situation.

The main goal is to provide continuous electricity to consumers without interruption. Furthermore, officials expect demand to increase even more in the coming weeks as summer intensifies.
