New Delhi, Oct. 17: The IPL 2027 auction is reportedly scheduled to take place in Goa on December 16, with all 10 franchises said to have received an update from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
According to the report, the auction will be hosted at the ITC Grand Hotel in Goa. A briefing session for franchise representatives is expected to take place on December 15. An official confirmation by email is still awaited.
IPL 2027 Auction Set to Return to India
The BCCI logistics team has reportedly shared preliminary details with franchises through WhatsApp messages. The auction arrangements are expected to be finalised following formal communication from the board.

The reported decision would bring the IPL auction back to India after three consecutive editions were held overseas. Dubai hosted the auction for the 2024 season, Jeddah for 2025 and Abu Dhabi for 2026.
The report said the BCCI considered requests from franchises before deciding to hold the event in India. In September, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia and IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal had reportedly indicated that Goa was being considered for a mid-December auction.
