EV Scooties Plan Announced For Female Students

Hyderabad: EV scooties plan for female students was announced by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy as part of efforts to make Hyderabad a pollution free city. The Chief Minister said the government is working on several steps to improve urban transport and support women’s empowerment.

Revanth Reddy made the announcement while participating in a Women’s Day programme held at Praja Bhavan. The event was organised with women journalists and focused on recognising the role of women in different sectors. The Chief Minister said the government aims to give proper recognition and opportunities to women.

Speaking at the event, he said the state government is assigning important responsibilities to women officers in different departments. According to him, this approach also includes the police department. He said empowering women in administrative roles is important for development.

“I am happy to organize this program with women journalists. This government hopes to give due recognition to women. We are assigning responsibilities to women officers in every possible department, including the police. The country will develop only when the economic power of women increases,” the Chief Minister said.

Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy also spoke about steps being taken to control pollution in Hyderabad. He said the government plans to move certain industries away from the city. According to him, industries falling under red and orange categories will be shifted outside the Outer Ring Road area.

He said these steps are part of a larger strategy to reduce pollution levels in the city. The government wants Hyderabad to become a cleaner and more environmentally friendly urban centre.

Later, the Chief Minister spoke about changes planned in the public transport system. He said diesel buses currently operating in Hyderabad will be moved to district routes by December 2026. This move is expected to reduce vehicle pollution within the city.

“We will move diesel buses in Hyderabad to the districts by december 2026. We are bringing 100 percent EV buses in Hyderabad. There will be no diesel buses in the city by December 9. We will bring AC EV buses in Hyderabad. We want to give EV scooties to college going students,” the CM said.

According to the Chief Minister, the plan to introduce EV buses is a key step in reducing pollution from public transport. The government aims to replace diesel buses with electric vehicles within the city limits.

The proposal to provide EV scooties to college going students is also linked to this initiative. The Chief Minister said the government wants to support students while encouraging the use of cleaner transport options.

Through these measures, the state government aims to promote electric mobility while supporting women and students. The EV scooties plan therefore reflects both environmental and social goals outlined by the Chief Minister during the event.
