An FIR was registered at Goregaon Police Station on July 31 against her husband, Abhineet Vidyanand Kaushik, her mother-in-law Urmila Kaushik (65), and her sister-in-law Kirti Kaushik (29). Police have launched an investigation into the allegations.
Aditi Sharma Alleges Harassment After Marriage
According to the complaint, Aditi alleged that she met Abhineet during an online acting class in June 2021, and the two eventually entered into a relationship.
The couple reportedly began living together in September 2024 at an apartment in Goregaon West before getting married on November 12, 2024, with the consent of both families.
In her statement to police, Aditi claimed that her husband’s behaviour changed within days of the wedding. She alleged that frequent arguments erupted over her clothing and other minor issues and that she was subjected to physical and mental harassment, verbal abuse, and repeated questioning of her character.
She further alleged that instead of contributing to household expenses, her husband frequently took money from her.
Actress Alleges Assault, Surveillance and Isolation
According to the FIR, an argument over coffee on January 1, 2025, escalated into a major dispute.
Aditi alleged that her husband became suspicious of her character, accused her of having an extramarital affair, regularly checked her mobile phone, and eventually began sleeping in a separate room.
She also claimed that she was prevented from speaking with her parents and was subjected to continued emotional distress.
Bridal Jewellery Allegedly Withheld
The actress has also accused her mother-in-law of retaining her stridhan, including gold chains, rings, a diamond ring, a mangalsutra, and bangles.
According to the complaint, despite repeated requests, the jewellery was not returned.
Aditi further alleged that her mother-in-law and sister-in-law supported her husband during family disputes and continued to harass her.
Police Investigation Underway
Based on the complaint, Goregaon Police have registered an FIR against the three accused under relevant provisions of the law and initiated an investigation.
As of now, no official statement has been issued by Abhineet Vidyanand Kaushik or the other accused regarding the allegations.
The police have stated that the matter is under investigation, and further action will be taken based on the findings.
