Hyderabad, Oct. 28: Korutla MLA Dr K. Sanjay Kalvakuntla has alleged that the medical and healthcare sector has deteriorated under the Congress government in Telangana.
The BRS legislator made the remarks during a surprise inspection of the 100-bed Government Area Hospital in Korutla, Jagtial district, on Wednesday. He inspected several departments and enquired about the medical facilities available to patients.
Sanjay visited the dialysis centre, inpatient wards, maternity ward, operation theatre and children’s wards. He also interacted with staff and reviewed the services being provided.

The MLA expressed dissatisfaction with the functioning of the hospital and alleged that doctors were neglecting patients. He urged medical staff to treat patients courteously and provide better healthcare services.
Sanjay Flags Shortage of Staff and Medical Equipment
Sanjay said the hospital was upgraded into a 100-bed facility at a cost of ₹14 crore during the previous BRS government. However, he alleged that inadequate attention from the present government had affected its functioning.
He claimed that valuable medical equipment was lying unused and deteriorating inside the hospital. He also raised concerns over an alleged water shortage and the lack of adequate infrastructure.
The MLA said staff shortages should not become an excuse for poor patient care. He urged doctors and other employees to discharge their duties with dedication.
Sanjay appealed to the state government to provide the hospital with the necessary medical equipment, infrastructure and personnel. He warned that continued neglect could create further difficulties for patients who depend on government healthcare facilities.
The MLA also criticised the Congress government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over what he described as the deteriorating condition of public healthcare in Telangana.

The government has not been quoted responding to the specific allegations made during the inspection.
