Vigilance seizes 18 LPG cylinders in Bodhan raids

Bodhan/Hyderabad, Mar 13 (Maxim News): Vigilance and Enforcement officials seized 18 domestic LPG cylinders in Bodhan.

The action came during surprise raids on Friday. Officials targeted illegal use of domestic gas in businesses. So the raids followed specific intelligence.

Teams inspected hotels, bakeries, and sweet shops. They checked the use of subsidised domestic cylinders. Officials said some outlets used them for commercial needs. Therefore, they booked cases.

A team led by Enforcement Deputy Tahsildar Hanumanthu led the drive. They inspected Deepak Sweet Home in the town centre. During checks, they found 15 domestic cylinders. Officials said the use broke rules. So they seized the cylinders.

Officials also booked a case against the owner. They identified him as Mahaveer. In addition, another team raided a second outlet. They seized three more cylinders there. Therefore, the total seizure reached 18.

Hanumanthu warned traders after the raids. He said illegal use will face strict action. He also asked business owners to follow rules. So he issued a clear warning.

He also spoke about supply concerns. He said Bodhan has enough LPG stock. Therefore, he said people need not fear shortage. He asked the public to ignore rumours.

The team included officials Pawan and Mahesh. Other staff also joined the drive. So the department carried out joint action.

Officials said misuse of domestic gas hurts supply chains. It also breaks subsidy rules. Therefore, they said checks will continue. They also asked the public to report misuse.

The raids form part of routine enforcement drives. Officials said more inspections may follow. For now, the focus remains on fair LPG use. (Maxim News)
