BJP Will Act As Main Opposition In Assembly Says Maheshwar Reddy
BJP | Hyderabad, March 16: BJP Legislature Party leader Alleti Maheshwar Reddy said the BJP will act as the main opposition in the Telangana Assembly. He said the BRS failed to perform the role of a strong opposition.
Maheshwar Reddy spoke to the media on Monday ahead of the Assembly sessions. He also launched sharp criticism against the Congress government. Maheshwar Reddy said the BJP will raise several public issues during the session.
Maheshwar Reddy said BJP will question the government on farmers issues. He said the party will also raise the issue of Rythu Bharosa implementation. Moreover, he said the BJP will demand answers on the six guarantees promised by the Congress.
Maheshwar Reddy alleged the government failed to fulfil key assurances. Therefore, he said the BJP will press for accountability inside the Assembly. He also said the party will highlight problems faced by farmers.
BJP Strategy For Assembly Sessions
Maheshwar Reddy compared development works in other states. He said people supported Sabarmati river development in Gujarat. However, he alleged authorities were demolishing houses of the poor in the name of Musi river rejuvenation in Telangana.
Maheshwar Reddy also raised concerns about law and order. He alleged the drug menace is spreading in the state. He claimed the government failed to act effectively on the issue.
Furthermore, he said the BRS remained silent on several public issues. Therefore, he said the BJP stepped forward to question the government. He expressed confidence that the BJP will represent public concerns strongly.
Maheshwar Reddy also said BJP legislators will actively participate in debates. He said they will seek detailed discussions on governance issues. He added that the party will continue its fight on behalf of the people.
The Assembly sessions are expected to see heated debates between the ruling Congress and opposition parties. Meanwhile, political observers expect discussions on welfare schemes and governance performance.
