Hyderabad: Payal Shankar strongly criticized the Governor’s speech in the Telangana Assembly. Speaking at the Assembly media point, the BJP MLA said the speech failed to address several key promises made to the people. He also alleged that the government’s message presented through the Governor lacked clarity.
According to Payal Shankar, the Governor’s address did not mention many pressing public issues. He said the speech ignored farmers’ problems, job filling, and concerns related to employees. He added that several retired employees have been raising complaints for years about not receiving their benefits. The MLA argued that such issues should have been clearly discussed in the Governor’s speech.
Meanwhile, Payal Shankar also raised concerns about welfare measures related to marginalized communities. He said that despite the existence of laws related to SC and ST communities, they are not receiving the facilities they deserve. He further claimed that backward classes are being completely cheated. He also stated that the sub plan is not very good. In addition, he pointed out that there is no clarity regarding the government’s debts.
The BJP MLA accused the government of presenting misleading information through the Governor’s speech. He alleged that the government spoke to the Governor about certain matters and later delivered statements that were untrue and confusing. However, he said the BJP would continue to raise its voice on public issues. He added that the party would work as the voice of the people of Telangana and would put pressure on the government until these issues are addressed.
Later, Payal Shankar also reacted strongly to the actions of MIM MLAs in the Assembly. He condemned the lawmakers for walking out without singing the Vande Mataram song after the Telangana anthem. According to him, their actions were unacceptable and reflected disrespect toward national values.
The BJP MLA said the behavior of the MIM MLAs was shameful. He questioned whether it showed a lack of interest in listening to Vande Mataram or a lack of patriotism. He also demanded that action be taken against the MIM MLAs for what he described as insulting the Vande Mataram song.
