GHMC Property Tax OTS Rebate Till March 31

Hyderabad, Mar 16 (Maxim News):: GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan said property owners can pay dues with a 90 percent rebate on interest. He said the benefit remains open till March 31. He urged taxpayers to use the One Time Settlement scheme.

He said 18 lakh people have already paid property tax. The total number of property taxpayers stands at 28 lakh. Therefore, officials expect more payments before the deadline.

Karnan spoke to the media on Monday. He said GHMC collected Rs 2,186 crore so far. He also said the response to the OTS scheme has remained strong. Officials believe the rebate helped improve collections.

He asked the remaining taxpayers to clear dues soon. He said the scheme helps people settle pending payments. Meanwhile, GHMC aims to improve compliance through such measures.

The Commissioner also spoke about future civic plans. He said GHMC will soon launch the Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika programme. He did not share further details about the plan.

He said the civic body is giving priority to sanitation. Therefore, GHMC has taken up a mega e waste drive. He said the campaign aims to improve waste management.

Karnan said sanitation teams increased monitoring across the city. He also said GHMC will continue similar drives. Officials plan more civic initiatives in the coming months.

The Commissioner again appealed to citizens to clear tax dues. He said timely payments help civic works. He also said the rebate offers a good chance to close pending cases. (Maxim News)
